[GA4 👤❌] No Data Modeling with CONSENT MODE V2 Basic!

In my previous post about the risks to your business if you activate CoMo Basic, there were some mixed opinions in the comments about how this mode works: GA4 🚨 CONSENT MODE V2 Basic means JEOPARDIZES your BUSINESS!

👉 The concern was about data sent to GA4 as a ping if the user denies cookies.

Google’s documentation indicates that the CoMo V2 Basic mode states that Google’s tags are prevented from loading and collecting data until consent is granted

👨‍⚖️ This means that if the user denies cookies, Google tags should not be activated

👨‍🏫 Considering that one of the prerequisites of modeling is that the Property collects at least 1,000 events per day with analytics_storage=’denied’ for at least 7 days, we can infer that by not sending any rejected consent rejection event to GA4, behavioral modeling activation will NEVER be triggered

The DROP in traffic is assured and will not be recoverable: The Dark Side of Consent Mode V2

❌ In addition, the data collected with CoMo V2 Basic will be unreliable.

Does it make sense for you to base your business on this data? 👇
